Disappointing service

Bought a Bosch vacuum cleaner (amongst other appliances). After 17 months it broke. I took it to Heroldt Furnishers to have it repaired under warranty. (Bosch website says 2 years on all appliances). The sales representative phoned and confirmed it was a 2 year warranty. Two weeks later I get an email from the repairs company telling me Bosch says one year and I need to pay R500 for the vacuum cleaner to be collected and quoted on. The vacuum cleaner was still at Heroldt. My gripe here with Heroldt is that I support local small business and expect better service. In fact their website claims "Excellent Service and Value". He should have phoned me the moment there was a problem and explained it to me. Why would I pay R500 to send it for a quote. Tell me that they won't honor the warranty and give me the option to fetch and repair myself or fight for me as a customer with the service company.
