Misconduct

A KTM motorcycle was advertised on Facebook, I made contact with Herman Nel Motors and dealt with Gerald Hattingh on Friday 2/12/2022. We discussed a deal where I would trade in a Chevrolet Utility pick up. Gerald Hatting worked out a deal which was beneficial to both parties involved. Deal was telephonically finalized and the finance process was conducted via Herman Nel Motors F&I (Chris Els). Part of the agreement is obviously both vehicles should be inspected and the relevant parties must be happy. Saturday 3/12/2022 I drove out to the showroom floor of Herman Nel Motors where I was met with both Gerald Hattingh and Chris Els. Both parties inspected the relevant vehicles involved in the agreement. There and then the deal was finalized and all that is left to do is to finalize the finance, roadworthy certificate etc. On Tuesday 6/12/2022 finance was finalized at 11:26am with a text message from Chris Els to myself for confirmation. I was then called telephonically by Gerald Hattingh we we can commence and make a plan for the bank finance to be be signed, he also confirmed that the roadworthy would be done promptly. At 12:12pm just over a half an hour later I received a call from Gerald Hatting in forming me that he is NOT going forward with this agreement, his excuse were he had a change of heart, because according to him the motorcycle is worth more money and he would fetch more on another sale. Problem is, he was the one who made the sale aswel as the trade in price. In our telephone conversation I made it clear that I am unhappy with the way he just changed his mind with no valid reason whatsoever. I also requested to find out who was the owner or dealer principal of Herman Nel Motors, he told me it was him himself. How do you argue with a brick wall. In my humble opinion a dealership who conduct business in this manner are dishonest and should not be in business.
