Henderson Property ****

I was almost caught out by property *****sters. I app**** for an apartment that was listed to RentUncle (or similar property adverti*****t platforms) and was sent an email with an application form and photographs of the listing. The form itself seemed very professional and requires the same kind of information has many others from alternative (legitimate) agencies.

I sent the completed form, only to hear that I need to make a deposit of R8600 before even being able to view the property. This set off major warning lights, as it is certainly not common procedure to complete a transaction before any agreements have been signed, especially not before even viewing the property and agreeing to go ahead with the lease. I looked into them a bit more thoroughly and found a couple of other reviews flagging them as ****mers.

Property is so sought-after in the Cape Town area that they prey on people who are desperate enough to do anything to secure a place to stay, even if it means blindly transferring thousands of Rands. It seems as if the original "Henderson Properties" is a real estate firm based in the USA. This *****ulent firm's emails are also sent from a Gmail address, which is concerning, since most companies have their own domains.
