HENCO AUTO BENONI

October 2019 my Toyota Conquest was booked in at HENCO for an OIL LEAK. I was quoted R26 911.62 by Bennie who was employed there at the time, he advised it was costly as the engine would be removed to locate the oil leak. After more than three weeks I could fetch it.p The fuel consumption going home was extremely high... The car went back the following day... different reasons by different people were given as to why this happened. The oil leak remained an issue. The car went back 7 more times and each time I was assured the oil leak was a thing of the past. This was not to be... Then Covid came. When I went back Hennie (after 16 years of service) no longer worked there, as well as his two sons. For the first time since my dealings with Henco I now dealt with Dewald the owner. After the previous revisit there was an additional problem, a noise from the aircon belt area as well as the usual oil leak, on telling Dewald about the problem he rudely said he thought I was a lonely old lady (I am 72 years old) that called on Henco for company, I was sworn the "F" word as well, after which he looked in at the engine, he detected oil, touched it, smelt it and declared that it was gearbox oil. I left the car there. On fetching the car a few days later I was informed that the oil leak had been SEALED and the aircon noise sorted. Both were worse. I had a backyard mechanic offer to fix the oil leak for R2400. 00, he kindly fixed the aircon and eradicated the noise free of charge. It is a puzzle why Henco was unable to fault find. I approached Dewald for the R2400. 00..he paid. A third party advised me not to do a backyard repair and on his recommendation the car went to Superior Car Clinic. THE OIL LEAK WAS FINALLY SORTED...IT WAS THE IMPUT SHAFT SEAL ON THE GEARBOX.. surely Dewald should have followed that up when he smelt the oil. The total cost was R6008. 00 Minus R2400. 00 paid by Henco Balance R3608. 00 which as a code of honour I feel should be paid to me. I personally approached Dewald for the above sum of money, I was sworn at again and the interlacing window slammed shut in my face, his behavior so violent that the office staff left the office and closed the door.
