******* and dishonest

I contracted Helderberg Solar Energy to install solar cells, backup battery as well as a comprehensive inverter system at my home in Claremont. Mr James Minnie sent me a quotation for a system and requested a 90% deposit which was paid in February 2020. From then onwards the excuses started to pour in as to why he had not delivered or installed a single component of what he had quoted on. He then sent out an email to me and four other people, whereby he was blaming a worldwide shortage of batteries. I rep**** to him and suggested that he must install all the other components and when the batteries become available, he could then just install them. Months went by with excuse after excuse. I then remembered the email he sent out and sent an email to the other people that he contacted who also had contracted him to install a similar system at their homes. All four of them came back to say that Mr James Minnie had taken their deposit and had not provided a single piece of hardware and that they had now handed Helderberg Solar Energy over to their lawyers. After numerous telephone calls to Mr James Minnie he eventually installed the solar panels at my home. After about 3 months, he reimbursed me with R90k and said that he was cancelling the contract. There was still an amount of R130k that he still owes me with all the promises that he would pay me back. To date , two years later, I have not received a dime from him. I contacted the other people recently and they all told me that Helderbery Solar Energy and Mr James Minnie owe each of them in excess of R100k each. There are many *****ed solar energy companies out there so please be warned and do your homework before you part with hard earned money for a system. Mr James Minnie is such a **** and a ***** that he has de*****ed many people with taking their deposit and not supplying anything to those people. Please be warned that if you deal with him, you do so at your own risk of being de*****ed.
