<p>On 02 February 2017, I purchased a Big Jack pie (Chicken and Mushroom) at Pick n Pay Sable Square, Milnerton/Cape Town.</p> <p>The following day I heated the pie and cut it into smaller, bite sized pieces. I then saw a long strand of black (hair-like) string in the pastry base. I lost my appetite and immediately returned the pie to pick n pay for a refund. </p> <p> </p> <p>I eat these pies regularly, as it is tasty and convenient, but this encounter has horrified me to my core. </p>
