Estate Agents do not refund deposits fairly or legally

<p>Why do Estate Agents always give tenants a hard time refunding deposits due. After the balance of my deposit was refunded late I still have not been refunded my full deposit and despite numerous attempts to get receipts from HRE for the costs deducted I am being ignored. I find this dishonest and it is against the law. The Rental Housing Act of 1999 specifically states receipts for costs deducted form deposits must be available for tenants to view.</p> <p>I am further appalled by the disgusting state of the unit having not been cleaned when it was rented out to me and offers to clean the unit were only made after I had already moved in and cleaned the Unit. The walls, carpets, doors and damage to the bathroom ceiling were left in a very poor state.</p>
