I run a small Guest House In a town called Hobhouse which is situated in the Free State. A week ago I got two guys come in looking for accommodation, claiming they were starting work on fixing the roads between Hobhouse and Ladybrand, which I found plausible as work has been going on for a couple of years with different contractors. The guy who seemed to be the " MAN IN CHARGE" requested an invoice so the company could do an EFT transfer. Which I gave him and he advised me that he emailed it. That night they went to the pub and drank to the extent of over a thousand rand, making acquaintance with the regulars and buying drinks for all in sundry. The following morning, I informed Steven oNiell, the boss man, that payment had not been made. He immediately got on the phone and spoke to the Director, Dawie Coetzee and enquired about payment.... (Spoke to himself I think.) and insured me that payment had been done. After breakfast they unloaded their bakkie of all they had on it, which was a bit of groceries that they bought for their staff. They informed me they were going into Ladybrand to the bank. Needless to say they did not return. I have been in contact with Steven every day by phone and whatsapp, every time I have had the same answer " I am on my way to pay you" but that never happens. I have found this company on Google but the phone number is outdated and does not exist. I have also been sworn at by this man and threatened on numerous occasions. I just want monies owed to me and the pub, the lies and deceit by this companies employees is disgraceful. Have I been ****med, I don't know.
