Refuse to give any indication of price before a physical visit
Enquired about a bed for my mother-in-law, service was quick but the salesperson refused point blank to give any indication of price– kept on repeating the statement about all the variables and they have to come and measure up before they can quote. I appreciate this fact however I asked "okay so are they R5000, R50000 or R500000 – she said she is not allowed to give an indication of price... this is such old-school 'salesman' tactics.

We are sorry you feel that you had a bad experience when engaging with our company. As I am sure it was explained, we custom build each bed to order and there are over 800 possible variations of our beds. The last thing we would want to do is either give you an indicative price that was lower than what your final quote came to and then have you feeling misled or, give you and indicative price that was high and which then caused you to not look at our offerings because it is too expensive when there may have been a more affordable configuration. To expect our beds to be R5 000 is unreasonable, however they could both be above or below R50 000 depending what what our clients specify. We have been offering this service for over 13 Years in South Africa and as the leading importer, manufacturer and supplier of adjustable beds, we believe testing and designing the bed with one of our Product Specialists is the only responsible way of selling such an important product and for our clients to make an informed decision.

So surely you could confidently say "for a single bed you could look at anything from R40 000 to R120 000 depending on the variables". That would be a simple extrapolation from your sales data.

29 Mar 2023, 14:59In our experience our clients prefer a accurate quotation relevant to their requirements rather than such a vague scale in price variation. We do however thank you for your comments and will take them into consideration.
