Adjust4Sleep bad after-sale service

Very comfortable bed!!! However, we recently bought a bed in Jhb. Custom made for me and my very big and tall husband. Due to the size of the bed (single & quarter in one base) the bed is broader than its length. During installation the guys didn't realize that and tried to fit it the wrong way. That must have damaged the frame...? On the second day my husband noticed that his side of the bed was bent at the head side. Informed them immediately, sent photographs etc. After more than a week a technician came to fix the damaged part - manager insisted that it was broken by us... no guarantee applicable, had to pay for the repair. We are really disappointed by the service and attitude of the company. One would expect their after sale service to match their very thorough and comprehensive assessment, demonstration and quotation when selling the R88 000 bed to us! Quote started at R117k but ended up at R88k after a few discounts.......that should have indicate problems to come.

We find it incredulous that you have posted a one-star rating and made the claims you have made taking in account the manner in which our staff were treated when tending to your complaint.

After installation, the bed was in perfect working order as attested by the delivery photo, delivery note and signed customer handover document.  Furthermore, we advise our clients on the swing tag, affixed to your remotes, and on the delivery handover document to ensure that the bed is in its flat position when not in use and that you do not sit on the adjustable section of the bed when it is raised as it may damage the mechanism (normally the arm of the mechanism).  It was clear that the arm was damaged through misuse and not following these guidelines despite our best efforts to inform you of the proper use and care.

When we came to inspect the damage and informed Mr S that it would not be covered under warranty, Mr S detained our staff, threated to physically attack them with the damaged part and used aggressive and foul language. Eventually, when Mr S agreed to make payment for the part and callout fee, they replaced the arm.  Mr S then decided to go shower, keeping our staff waiting, before short paying his account.

While it is unfortunate that the bed was damaged so soon after delivery, it was not a manufacturing fault and therefore the client was responsible for the associated costs.  There is also no justification for the manner in which Mr S intimidated and detained our staff who were simply there to tend to a service call.
