UNFAIR TREATMENT
My has a brain tumor. He gets epilepsy because of the tumor. He has been registered for PMB. He had a problem with his left ear and was in a lot of pain. He constantly had ear infection which resulted in his epilim leave dropping in his blood due to the infection which in turn resulted in him having epileptic fits. When then arranged for a him to see a doctor at medi clinic Cape Gate as it was 2 KM away from our house and was closer to us. We paid for the doctor's appointment in cash. The doctor then said that he needs to come in for a procedure to clean out the ear. Apon getting the pre auth for the procedure we were informed that medi clinic cape gate isn't a preferred hospital but Mediclinic Constantiaberg is. We then told to make an appointment at Mediclinic Constantiaberg at DR. Esterhuizen which we did as resolution health told us to use Dr Esterhuizen.(60 km away from house) We then made an appointment with the doctor and once again paid for the doctor. The doctor then also advised me that my son needs to go for a procedure. We then had to get pre Auth again from resolution health. On trying to get pre Auth we were told that they were not going to pay for Mediclinic Constantiaberg as it's not a preferred hospital or network hospital. (but they send us there) we were then send to Netcare Kuilsriver which is 25km away from my house or netcare blouberg which is 40km away from my house. I then said that’s enough as we are being send everywhere in Cape Town for a very small procedure. Resolution then said that we can use mediclinic Constantiaberg. After a major fight for sending us up and down Cape Town. We paid the copayment in full. Now we are getting medical bills for the procedure done. Apon enquiring why the medical aid didn’t pay it in full I was informed that if the hospital is further that 50km away you’re your residence there is no co-payment. Resolution isn't willing to pay the accounts in full. I would like to to know as to how is going to pay for my fuel as I drive a bakkie 3.0L as my bakkie runs at R4.65 per km. how is going to reimburse me for my fuel, meds for after the procedure, time off from work and telephone bill for the 3hours if been on the phone with resolution health. When trying to get clarity regarding this issue when asking for a manager not one of the operators or constantans wants to transfer you.
