Rejection of Procedure=paralyzation
<p>I am at home. Procedure on my back was cancelled by RESOLUTION HEALTH MEDICAL AID as the code procedure wasn't on their list. They simply ignored 2 highly qualified Neuro Surgeons motivations of y the operation was of utmost importance, they ignored the MRI Scan that was authorised by them. After belonging to this medical aid scheme since 2002 they turned down a procedure that would of cost them R100 000. My contributions since 2002 amounts to 1million. I further found out that no joints were covered if we needed a knee etc replacement. I have been told by the surgeon that if I have a bad fall or twist my back I will land up being paralysed. It now comes down to the fact that i having to join a new medical aid. Thank God FED HEALTH has accepted me with a pre history. I have to wait 3 months then I can have my back op. </p> <p> </p> <p>RESOLUTION MEDICAL AID I am disgusted to think you put all your clients in one basket. I will definitely NOT advise anyone to join this scheme. And for those that do belong to them, I suggest you query which CODES you are NOT covered for. </p> <p> </p> <p>I am disgusted with your scheme - 20 years of contributions I have given you and never had a operation in all that time. </p> <p> </p> <p>I have a excruciating pain, my mood is all over the place, im dead scared of landing up in a wheel chair. Resolution Health’s have come up with a solution for Mrs Hennings back problem they have found 1 Neuro Surgeon in Gauteng who will perform the Facet Joint Block in radiology. Every other Neuro Surgeon Mrs Hennings has seen refuses to do it in their rooms or in radiology. But Resolution Health phoned AROUND and found 1 Neuro Surgeon. So Mrs Hennings right to find a doctor that she feels comfortable with has been taken away from her. A team of medically untrained people (pre-authorization team) have decided where she must go for Resolution Health to be able to authorize the procedure. All other Neuro Surgeons who have been contacted for their comments have confirmed it is too risky and that the procedure needs to be done in thereafter. BUT Resolution Health says otherwise.
So I ask you who is the brain behind the company – that would be Patrick Masobe. Can I get hold of him? No, so I look him up!
Okay so in an article about Mr Masobe it is quoted that Dr Magau said “As the founding chief executive officer of the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS), a position he held for almost a decade, Masobe oversaw the development of the organization into a fully-fledged regulator of health insurance in South Africa. Under his leadership, the CMS achieved clean audit reports for nine consecutive years. (Impressive)
The strategic leadership Patrick demonstrated in the seminal years of the CMS has left a lasting legacy that contributed to improving the financial health of the sector, establishing principles of fair treatment of members’ funds, and instilling a culture of consumer education,”
Now that is quiet something considering the lack thereof at Resolution Health which he is CEO of. I wonder if he phoned in as a “consumer” what kind of service he would get as a normal John Doe. Maybe he should try it would be an interesting exercise. I surely would challenge him and his team of management which are unable to reach by phone and/or email as they are guarded by staff who are more interested in not putting you through to him that solving your immediate problem, which of cause they have no intention of solving as Resolution Health has not established principles of fair treatment of members’ funds, or instilled a culture of consumer education unless of cause they are telling you that your scheme does NOT COVER THE PROCEDURE that you need and it is not on the PMB list.
Where to from here, honestly I don’t know. Maybe Patrick does, if he returns our calls he may be able to shed so light on the subject, hopefully it will be in a positive glow.
