Rejection of Hip Replacement

I am extremely disappointed in Resolution Health and they way they handled my situation, and would not recommend them to anyone. I have been battling with my hip for some time now. I eventually found an excellent surgeon who after x-rays and a cat scan discovered that the ball of my hip was disintegrated so badly that when I walk I hit bone on bone, hence the agony when walking. I phoned Resolution Health who I have been with for a number of years now and asked them if I was covered for the hip replacement – to which they rep**** “yes” and would cover up to R32 000.00 for the prosthesis, on this information I went forward with the procedure – blood tests ect, they even approved some of the procedure codes given by the doctor. Then 5 days before the op (which should be on (Tuesday 30th August 2016) I phoned them for the authorization of the procedure and was suddenly told that it was declined because of a p.m.d ??? What?, seriously you could not have told me 2 months ago when I asked the question and you verbally agreed? you let me go through the all the expense, time taken off work, and stress just to tell me at the eleventh hour it has been declined, even with a motivational letter from the surgeon? Why don’t you train your staff properly? They are rude and have no compassion for the person on the other end of the phone, they just tell me to read the last page where there are the exclusions are…So I believe I have to “break a hip” to qualify for a “new hip”, even when I eventually land up in a wheel chair, this will not qualify for a hip replacement? After all my time with you I feel I have been ****med at the time of need since you informed me twice that my operation was covered. So please all be aware of the miss communication from Resolution Health, don’t believe anything they say – double, triple check everything before you commit to anything!

Thank you Resolution Health, especially after all the support I have given you over the years this is a slap in the face…..

Please could Resolution Health confirm to me in writing, that if I upgrade to their highest plan "Supreme" in December, that I will be able to have the hip replacement in January 2017 - without a waiting period and without anything hidden in the “exclusions” area - looking forward to hearing from
