no authorisation for surgery - alternative treatme
I have a pinched nerve in C6/7 of my neck. Had physio, done injections, meds etc. Been over year now. Mri scan shows pinched nerve. Supposed to go for surgery. No authorization from resolution health. They want me to go for a DBC assessment and treatment first. Waiting a week for someone to tell me where to go. I contact the medical aid, and even they cant tell me. Their words were to phone the hospitals in the area and they would help me. The hospitals don't even know what a DBC centre is. I found one listed via google, (but its in PTA and i'm on the east rand so its far) and the number doesn't exist anymore. If they want me to have this treatment done I'll do it but surely they should be able to give me direct numbers and contact details. I pay a lot of money to belong to this medical aid, and I would have a co payment of R12000 so believe me, surgery was not my first option - I didn't just jump into the idea. Its crazy that they want me to go for treatment but cant tell me where, while in the meantime, the symptoms are getting worse and more debilitating.
