Agility- Health Squared - ****************!

I recently needed an operation on my foot. After paying our medical aid Hospital Plan since 2007 and not using it, I figured I would be in good stead to have this operation and be covered. Think again!!! After getting all the necessary checks / ultrasound / x-rays - obtaining the letter of motivation and forwarded that on to Health Square - Agility. Thereafter, the fun began! What every one needs to know is that these Schemes take your money and when the chips are down and you really need the support .... they use every excuse NOT to pay. They leave you in the most vulnerable position.

A day before my scheduled operation, which I had travelled for, prepared to have support for, (as I was not going to be able to drive.) They told me they were not covering all the codes that the Doctor had requested.

My question is:- HOW can you only cover half an operation? They take advantage of people not knowing medical jargon. Telling you they pay this percentage and not that percentage. Basically, it’s nothing short of DAY LIGHT *******! My advice to anyone intending to take a policy out on this or any other scheme is DON’T - you will be much better off if you took the money that the scheme would cost - put it in a fixed account monthly. At least you will have the money when you need it and not be left in the lurch! I have calculated ... since 2007, we have paid in access of ZRA380,000:00 / 400,000.00 All they paid towards my medical bill was ZAR8,900:00
