Medical Aid Incompetence

<p>I went for a surgery on my hand nearly 2 months ago. I got preauthorization and followed all the steps from Momentum to the letter. All T & I's were crossed and dotted.</p> <p> </p> <p>2 months later I'm still getting legal threats and intrest claims from the Surgeon (Dr Pryce-Lewis) & the anesthesiologist (DRS Beck Danchin & Partners). Furthermore I had to pay 50% (5K) upfront to the surgeon as his practice stated that Momentum are bad payers!</p> <p> </p> <p>I've had to run around for HDI Group who are somehow involved in handling my claim and do the leg work of getting a number of other documents together for them to submit. Their email does not work so they have not been recieving my forms and i've had to forward them on to third parties and other clients of theirs attest to this as well.</p> <p> </p> <p>I'm at heads with;</p> <p> </p> <p>A. Momentum for not handling this claim correctly and being BAD PAYERS.</p> <p>B. HDI Group for their incompetence and lack of technical support to handle claims.</p> <p>C. MY broker for leaving me out in the cold to figure this out instead of diving in and getting it sorted.</p> <p> </p> <p>I'd think twice about Momentum (Discovery maybe?) and if HDI Group are involved I hope you have a better experience. Maybe it was just this one but you never know...</p>
