Havoc Wood breaks agreement leaving me stranded

Havoc Wood does customary carpentry. I designed a baby's room in a box furniture-set and asked them to make. Everything was agreed, 50% deposit paid. Later, a friend suggested I add a small balustrade and a small stepper to the project for better safety. I asked Havoc Wood if this addition was ok, they confirmed. They did not say anything about extra cost, which I thought was reasonable as it is literally only makes use of a few small slats of leftover wood from the original project, not really any extra material.<br> <br> I was later shocked by their quote for the addition, at a very high price for something so small and simple. I expressed my surprise, and told them that the price is way over my budget. I asked them if they can not throw in something so small as a complimentary gift. Havoc wood said no. I then asked if they could quote me a lower price for the addition, to which they also said no.<br> <br> It was very late in my pregnancy I had no other place to go to & can't start briefing and negotiating all from the beginning, so I asked them to simply forget about the addition and revert to the original project. They then said they not going to make it anymore, left me and baby without a cot
