"Haval SA - Be Careful - Dont Get Caught Out"

I purchased a new Haval H1 from Haval in 2018 which came with a 3 year service plan. I had no issues with the service plan over the 1st two years, but was left very disappointed with the 3rd annual service. Upon booking my car for its service the dealership gladly accepted my booking, only to find out after my car was booked in, that my service plan has 'expired' and that Haval would not honour the agreement to service my vehicle. Upon investigating I found out that the plan had expired two weeks earlier and that since it was the end of the plan and the last service, there was no 'grace period" and that there was nothing I could do and now I have to pay for the service. This is extremely disappointing as I feel that as such a large group, Haval should have warned me with enough time to spare that the plan is about to expire on "given date" and that I should book my service beforehand. Also they could have explained this at the onset of the purchase so that I could be completely aware of my responsibility to have the car serviced before the expiration. As an example, with the paint and dent protection policy sold to me with the car, I was informed a month ahead of time that the plan was going to expire. Is this a ploy from Haval to save costs by not having a decent customer service policy in place to give their clients a proper after sales and continued service. Surely if i was made aware/reminded, I could have made different arrangements and possibly agreed to purchase an extended service plan for the years ahead if one is/was available from the group. How would i now trust this group to trade in and purchase a new vehicle from them in the future. While it appears that legally i do not have a leg to stand on, I truely believe that this is pathetic from such a 'well known' brand and would like to warn others to be very careful, so as not to be caught out in the same way as i have.
