H2 Lux Clutch Query
On the 3rd of January 2022, my H2 Lux 2020 clutch just became loose and I couldn't engage gears, but it could still start on neutral only. Then AA towed the car to the nearest dealership (Haval Westrand) on the 3rd of January 2022. on the 5th of January, I got a call from them stating that they checked my car but couldn't see what was the cause of the clutch being loose and informed me that they called Haval head office and they were advised to remove the gearbox to be able to see what the problem was. Then on the 10th of January 2022, they called again informing me that they have removed the gearbox and they will give me feedback once they get the report. on the 11 of January 2022, they called again (a different person, not the one who've been assisting me) informing me that they have the results and the problem is the clutch and it needs to be replaced for R19000 and something (Clutch is R16000 and R3000 and something would be labor since it will take them 4-5 hours to replace the clutch. I asked the lady what caused the clutch to collapse since they couldn't see the cause until they had to remove the gearbox? she couldn't provide a clear answer, hence I felt like if it was a clutch that burnt then it was going to be easy for them to see the cause without removing the gearbox. Do they have to remove the gearbox to see that? this car is only one year old and I do not drive it every day since I'm working from home. I only drove it once for a long distance from JHB to Eastern Cape. Why would a new car that is not driven often have clutch issues? does this mean every year I'll have to replace the Clutch? I also asked them since my car is still very new, can't this issue fall under factory warranty? it doesn't make sense for a new car to have this issue. So does it mean if I were to go back to work full time, that means I will have to replace it every 6 months? Her response was "let me check for you" and she called back saying your car is at 25000 km and a clutch is only covered under warranty up to 20 000 km. so I must pay the R19000 something by myself. then I shared this issue with other Haval owners on Social media (a Facebook group) and only to find out that some people had the same issue with their cars and were fixed under factory warranty and were more 20 000km. I have also sent an inbox to Haval SA (11 January 2022) on Facebook requesting clarity, and they logged my query with their National service team and promised to be in touch with me (1-2 business days) but until today no call from them. I really do not know what to do anymore. it's like Haval does not care. Disappointed customer!
