Don't buy HAVAL pt2
To follow on from previous 1star. I failed to take the car for a couple of Services and the car came out of warranty. The car made a weird noise and I took it to Northcliff. Quoted: c. R1500 to determine the fault. Quoted: c. R121k to fix the fault as in replace the engine. Obviously not everyone has that kind of money lying around so I left the car there for c. 6 weeks while trying to raise the money. I then get call that they start charging me R200/day storage. So, I go and fetch the car - drive it home... Ask a mechanic friend to take a look... he spends R1300 on parts (basic service) and R2500 labour. The next day I complete 100km test drive, the following day 800km round trip to Bloemfontein... NO PROBLEMS... and that was 2 months ago. Absolutely no further concern. So why - would Haval want to charge R121k to replace the engine when a basic service was fine. My advice - dont buy Haval.
