Dissatisfied Customer

1.I bought a new GWM Steed 6 bakkie from Haval Hatfield at the end of August 2019. The vehicle broke down 4(four) different times (leaving me stranded without transport) between October 2019 & February 2020 leading me to decide to take it back to the garage in February in terms of the Consumer Act. I was told by the sales manager in the presence of a representative from Wesbank that "it does not work like that, the vehicle must be tested by Haval SA before they can take back". I also contacted Haval SA and they told me "they have a right to repair the vehicle if it is faulty". I asked all the companies involved "what are my own rights or options in such a situation" and I did not get a direct answer. During the 4 breakdowns I had to take the vehicle to the workshop so in my view they had time to repair or test it. But finally Haval SA tested it in June and decided that "there is nothing wrong with the vehicle". I responded that I still didn't want it as it had let me down so badly. I asked them to give me an H2 in place of the bakkie. The H2 turned out to be expensive and I settled for an H1. The problem is that in terms of their "settlement" they penalized me so dearly and I ended up with a shortfall that I must pay. This is the first point I cannot understand- firstly, the vehicle broke down 4 times but I must pay shortfall? Secondly, it turns out that a customer can return a vehicle if he is unhappy with it but I was denied this right. I am thus wondering how I can get assistance to redress the situations. 2.Upon reviewing the contract I signed for the H1 I discovered a)2 clauses in Haval Hatfield's T&Cs that state that if I am not happy with the car I can return it and I will be charged for usage only, and b)that the amounts on the new contract for the H1 were actually greater than they had quoted. When I followed up they didn't answer my questions. They refer me to Motor Industry Ombudsman and get a lawyer to contact their lawyers. Again I don't understand their response. As a paying customer I think I should at the least be given direct answers if I don't understand? Is that incorrect? 3.During the exchanges with the staff of the 3 companies Haval Hatfield, Wesbank and Haval SA, I was treated so badly for a paying customer- as an eg at one stage the workshop manager told me to "rent a vehicle for my cost" whilst the bakkie stood in their workshop waiting for a part. Again this is hard to understand for me I'm thus writing this review to get some advice as to how I can deal with the situation I find myself in. Unfortunately I can't afford a lawyer as they advise. Please help/advise
