VW South Africa has ****** ME

On the 20/12/2020 I took my car in to VW Hatfield to have it checked out as my Indicator(turning signal), Wipers and Horn were not working. My service Advisor was Jason Masango.

Mr Masango then proceeded to take my car into their workshop to have it diagnosed. When Mr Masango returned with my vehicle he told me that my Turn Signal Switch and Control Unit were broken and that I need to have them replaced. Mr Masango then furnished me with a document which is a list of parts I'm to order to get my car sorted out.

Whilst I was still at VW Hatfield Commercial I asked Mr Masango how long it would take for them to order and receive part, Mr Masango then said because its December and a lot of people have taken leave, it might take a couple of weeks to arrive. I live in Bloemfontein and I was only visiting friends in Pretoria so I could not afford to stay in Pretoria for a few more weeks. So I drove back to Bloemfontein.

I then went to VW Bloemfontein (Parts Department) and furnished them with Document1 (List of parts I was told to order). The VW Bloemfontein (Parts department) then ordered the parts and I made the payment.

Three days later the ordered parts had been delivered to VW Bloemfontein and my car was booked in for the repairs on 08/03/2021. The part was fitted by VW Bloemfontein Mechanics but it did not work. After careful inspection and liaising with VW SA it was discovered that the "Control Unit" I was told to order was wrong and that because the part is electronic it can not be refunded.

I'm writing this complaint because it was at VW where my car was diagnosed and It was VW that told me which parts to buy. So it's only right that VW reimburse me fully for it was VW itself that advised on the wrong part.

A few correspondence emails were sent between myself, VW Hatfield, VW Head office and VW Bloemfontein. Neither VW Hatfield or VW Bloemfontein are willing to take responsibility for this mess and I, the customer, am left feeling like an idiot because I've paid R10 000 for a part I was told to order by VW Hatfield but my car is still not fixed.

I feel helpless as I do not have money for legal representative. What is an individual like myself to do when faced with this type of day light ******* by a corporate as big as Volks Wagen?
