Sunroof shattered while driving!!

<p>I was driving when I heard a loud exploding sound, similar to that of a gunshot. My sunroof had shattered and there was a hole in the roof. I took my car into Hatfield VW Pretoria where I had purchased the vehicle, one of the technicians suggested that a stone hit the sunroof and caused it to shatter. I insisted that they do an assessment to determine what could have caused the sunroof to shatter. I was now stranded without a car for almost three weeks, before getting feedback from VW. I received a report confirming that an external factor caused the sunroof to shatter and therefore the damage would not be repaired under warranty and that I should pay from my own pocket. I am extremely unhappy and appauled with service I got from Hatfield VW Pretoria. I feel that the sunroof should have been repaired under warranty. I suspect that the glass is defective, because how does a sunroof spontaneously explode?</p>
