HATFIELD VW - BRYANSTON - SHOCKING SERVICE
I took my car in to VW Bryanston to have a part replaced, as the fan kept going on and draining the battery. I took it in and was told it was all fixed, got my car back... Not fixed. When i get in my car to go to work, the battery is dead, i call to tell them the issue hasn't been fixed, they tell me to bring it in.... UH i can't, I have to get to work and i need to get someone to jump start the car, they said i can call VW assist but i may have to pay?? PAY? The reason i'm coming back is because of YOU! I manage to get someone to help me jump start that evening and took it to the dealership the next day. I was told that it was a faulty part straight from the factory that they put in and that they will fix it.
I then also mentioned that i have a problem with my mirror not going in and out, the service guy said unfortunately due to lock down, they cannot get the part but he'll give me a call as soon as they're able to order it (I DID NOT EXPECT A CALL), didn't get a call...
When i call to ask when they can fix my mirror, they say to bring my car in so that they can double check what part they need. I confirm if i can come in at 12:30, they said not a problem. Go in a 12:30, wait 15 mins, go back to reception to ask what is going on, they tell me the guy that i am waiting for is actually on a test drive and will be back in 10 minutes. They then organize for me to speak to his foreman. His foreman confirms what part i need and says he will order it and let me know once its arrived. I hear nothing from either the service guy or the foreman for over a week so i call on Friday last week... The foreman says he'll do a tracking and let me know. He tells me via email that it will arrive there next week Tuesday, so can we arrange for my car to go in on Wednesday. I said Wednesday is fine and that my car is due for a service, so could i please book it in for a service as well, i specifically asked whether i should book it in for a service or will he do it for me, he confirmed that he would do it for me. I messaged on the Monday to ask if i could please postpone to Thursday as Wednesday doesn't work, i receive a reply that Thursday will be fine.
I arrive this morning at 7:30, to be told that my car is not booked in. The service guy is off ill and the foreman is on leave. No one knows anything. I said, i booked it in today because I was told that the part would arrive on Tuesday and that i would like it to go for a service too. They organize for me and I leave.
The first correspondence I receive from someone at VW is at 12:40, only to be told that he's checked my mirror and there seems to be nothing wrong with it, he also sees that my car is due for a service, can he do a service on it as well? Also, will I need my car today? I thought he may be joking, i dropped my car off at 7:30 this morning and explained exactly what needed to be done??????? He then tells me it will be done by 16:00? I specifically made sure i dropped my car off early as i end work at 15:00 and want to pick my car up on the way home. Bearing in mind that i'm ubering back and forth. Not only is it an expense but also a risk with COVID.
After my first bad experience, i just thought to leave it, as i go there as a matter of convenience. I am now actually okay with being inconvenienced, as long as i don't have to deal with the service and lack of competency at VW Bryanston.
After being a BMW driver, where they inform you every step of the way what is happening with your car "your car is being looked at by the mechanic", "your car is in the wash bay", "your car is ready for collection", to this?
I really am not a complainer but this is ridiculous!!!!
