Fair warning - VW Hatfield Service Center is not trustworthy

<p>I have a 2009 model Polo. My ABS light came on, and I took it to Hatfield VW - after a simple diagnostic, costing R950, they informed me that my rear wheel barings were faulty, and needed to be replaced - the sales consultant informed me that this process would cost me in the excess of R7000. I decided to get a second opinion, and lo and behold, my ABS sensors needed cleaning (the wheel bearings was in perfect condition and the mechanic was baffled as to why VW Hatfield would want to replace it in the first place) - the cleaning cost me less than R300. The ABS light has not come on since.</p> <p>The entire process at Hatfield VW would have cost me R8000+ when it should have been less than R300. </p> <p>This is just a fair warning - I am very sceptical of any service and mechanical related advice from VW Hatfield - it seems they are out to make money out of unknowing, trusting clients. Be aware. </p>
