Voted No.1 For Worst Service
I sent my Polo 1.0 Tsi Comfortline DSG into the Hatfield VW Bryanston to get my break pads replaced. I made it very clear to the service adviser Luyanda that I was not happy with the level of service that I had received from Hatfield Bryanston so far and for that reason I had requested a different service advisor hoping that the service would improve. Below are the reasons for my frustration.
I took my car in for its second routine service on August 22, when my car returned the aircon was no longer working. I called the service advisor Kevin to advise him of this, the first call regarding this was not very pleasant and Kevin did not want to accept any responsibility. He did however call me back a few minutes later to apologize and book my car in again to get the aircon fixed. This was done on the 28th. I asked Kevin numerous times if there were any other issues with the car and he assured me that everything was fine. Despite this, I gave the dealership decent feedback when their survey company called. About a month later I got a "car due for inspection" warning light. I called Kevin to notify him of this and he advised that he just needed to reset something in the car and that I would have to come back into the dealership for that. Why was this not done with my last service? I asked again if there was anything to be concerned about however Kevin assured me everything was in order. Which then leads me back to the main reason for writing this, a month later my brake pads are completely depleted to the point that even the brake plate had to be replaced. Why was I not warned of this during my last service? I have serviced my car with VW Hatfield Northcliff and I know for a fact that this is something the service advisor is supposed to notify you of. Sadly, that's not the worst part of my query. During the repairs my car door was damaged by the dealership. My service advisor offered a Polo Vivo as a courtesy car while my car is taken to a panel beater for repairs. I refused the Vivo and requested a vehicle in the same class as my car, I do not see why I need to inconvenienced due to their "mistake". I escalated my query to the dealer principal and the service manager and eventually they agreed to giving me a courtesy car similar to mine. The car has PDC with a rearview camera, also a DSG but that's about it. My car has PDC, blindspot detection, an armrest, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, comforts that I've become accustomed to. To top it off, they dropped off the vehicle with an almost empty petrol tank. My biggest concern is that I dropped off a vehicle that has never been an accident, to then get back a vehicle that has now been in an accident and I'm told that no compensation is due?? No gesture of goodwill? How? when they have depreciated the car's value? The fact that they have given me a courtesy car is of no benefit to me, I could have gone back home with my car. The fact that they are taking the car to a VW approved panel beater also means nothing to me, fact is the car was damaged, taking it to an approved panel beater or giving a courtesy car does not make up for this. Almost two weeks later and I still don’t have my car back, very little communication from the dealership. I’m never taking my car there again.
