Very Poor Service from Haspex Group
I bought a fence and sent it back to their warehouse with the intention of returning some fencing that I had bought the previous week for a garden project at one of my places. It turned out that the tenant was not happy with the fencing, and we did not use it. It was 13m of green PVC diamond mesh.
I understand firstly that you are not obliged to return goods, but considering that you do have a returns policy, I thought it ok to bring it back - as I have no use for it otherwise. Being both happy to pay a handling fee or even receive a credit note for future exchange.
With this in mind, I innocently approached your staff with my problem and immediately was shut down by an aggressive employee who turned out to be ****** (Name Withheld). In the parking lot, in front of customers, he shouted to the point where I became embarrassed. I tried asking to speak to you as his supervisor, but I was told that there was no-one else available to see me. I requested to make an appointment and left my number, but no one has come back to me.
My point is: • I am a regular customer and recently undertook a project where my company gave Haspex Group a significant amount of support. This shouldn’t really matter, but if it is no loss to either party, why can’t we agree to some concession in exchange for an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship? Is it really necessary that the length of fence now lies in my garage until ultimately finding its way to the dump? • Your returns policy and your employees argument refers being invalid on cut goods. Fair enough, but anyone who works with diamond mesh, including Werner, knows that you don’t cut diamond mesh and it is as easy to shorten as it is to lengthen and my piece that was taken off the roll could just as easily be put back on without harm or loss to anyone.
• Lastly, no matter how wrong I may be, I did not raise my voice to anyone. I simply asked to speak to someone else who would not keep taking this to the point of an argument. I don’t appreciate being shouted at in the parking lot by your employee. I know that this R1000.00 item may seem insignificant in the bigger scheme of things, but it actually exacerbates the situation and how petty it is.
