******/ Descrimination

I had one very disappointing experience at Aerial Cable way situated in Hartesbeesport Dam, The area is just a few kilometers outside pretoria. What began as a day of fun looking forward to an awesome experience ended up with a bad taste left in my mouth, a very disappointed partner.

We where up the mountain and had taken the 800m walk around it as we decided to have some lunch. We proceeded to order the food at the 360 eatery place then went to have a sit on one of the benches that have a view of the DAM and other areas around. We finaly found one that was vacant and had a great view, as we sat me and my partner we where then approached by a black waitress who then asked us if we will be ordering any alcoholic bevarages we responded to her politely that we are just waiting for our food and we will then order after. The waitress then told us that we cant actually sit there as the benches on the side of the bar are "Reserved'' for people who are ordering at the bar.

To our suprise we then realise that we are actually being removed so that a white family can seat there. I am generally a person who stands his ground in any situation but because i wanted to keep a positve experience for my partner and i, we then moved and went to seat inside the 360 eatery and barely a few minutes later the White male who we had been removed for came into the eatery to pick up his food.

To our disbelief we then asked one of the waitresses there if it was true that only people ordering at the bar are allowed to seat there and she said no, anyone can seat there... unbelievable!! I then asked to speak with the bar manager who goes by the name Parks about my treatment, he was very accomodating but i was not satisfied with his answers and i was not convinced about what he claims he would do... he did not even bother to address it with the waitress.. i guess this is how you get treated for being black. Maybe me and my partner are inferior we dont have enough money to actualkly earn respect as people who spent their hard earned money to enjoy the views on the mountain... least to say i doubt i will be returning to this place.
