Recommend you stay well away from Harrods online!

So much for Harrods claim to be "The World's Leading Department Store"

I recently spent hours trawling through their website trying to find a special high-value gift that could be delivered to Australia as a special birthday present.

When I found what I was looking for (no qualifications about availability, by the way) I placed my order and paid (a not insignificant amount of money) for it using Amex (after first making sure I had plenty of time to get the gift delivered to for the special day).

I received an email order acknowledgement and order number immediately then - a week later - another form email telling me the order had been cancelled because the item was out of stock - and that my payment would be refunded but that it could take up to 10 days.

Just in case anyone from Harrods Customer Service happens to be reading these reviews (unlikely, since I doubt they actually have any comprehension of the concept of "customer service"), advertising a product for sale and taking money for it when you are incapable of actually providing it, is (in Australia, anyway) false and misleading conduct and a breach of Trade Practices law.

And here's another point, guys... I've had credits processed to my Amex card before (more recently on accommodation bookings in Europe that had to be cancelled as a consequence of Covid-19) and the credits have been instant. 10 days is utter BS and tantamount to *****.

So readers, here’s the warning… Don't get suckered into dealing with these clowns by the name or any imp**** "brand integrity". These people are buffoons at best and, at worst, no better than third-word ************.
