Very bad experience and poor quality workmanship

We hired RJ Construction to replace our ceiling with isoboard. He assured us he had extensive experience with this type of installation, but the job was done completely incorrectly. Instead of using the proper isoboard clips, the panels were fastened with nails and *****s, leaving visible seams where the boards meet. The ***** holes were covered with Painters Mate, which is a different color from the isoboard, making the ceiling look unsightly. When we asked if the isoboard would be painted, RJ insisted it could not be painted. After contacting suppliers and confirming otherwise, we discovered this was untrue. Only then did they agree to paint it, but at an additional cost to us. Within weeks of installation, the isoboard began pulling away from the walls and beams due to the poor workmanship. The entire ceiling now has to be redone. Beyond the structural issues, RJ’s behavior was unacceptable. He was rude and aggressive toward his workers, often shouting at them in front of us. He even made distasteful, racially charged remarks, referring to his employees dismissively as “these people.” His workers were clearly intimidated, and our neighbors once phoned us out of concern after hearing his loud, aggressive shouting from our property — while we weren’t even home. This demonstrates how extreme his behavior can be. RJ treats not only his workers poorly but also his clients. Based on our experience, I strongly advise against using his services.
