Disappointing food and service from the Harbor House Kalk Bay.
There were nine of us for a birthday lunch on Sunday 23rd August 2026. When we got there the restaurant was not busy, however for a table of nine we were assigned one waiter with occasional help from a waitress. This resulted in the food arriving over a protracted period, which was completely unnecessary given the fact that the restaurant was by no means full when we got there and the additional staff seem to be standing around. In addition, the food was mediocre, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good, the portions were small and all in all it was disappointing quality for an expensive lunch. In my opinion, Harbour House trades on its location and not its quality. They need to raise their game with the food quality and the service. We have been frequent customers - this lunch was probably the 5th or 6th family occasion we have hosted there, but we will most certainly not be hosting another expensive, mediocre meal with poor service.
