(Un)Happy Rhino Hotel
What a horrible place! Entered the reception area and was smacked right through my double-layered face mask with the most ********** stench emanating from the toilet which is situated right behind the reception desk. I knew then and there I should run and never look back, but being the trusting idiot I am, I decided to still check in. While I’m standing there (waiting for nearly 20 minutes) two ladies stand behind me also waiting to check in, patiently waiting for the other clerk behind the desk to finish chatting on her phone! Eventually I get the key card to a room on the 7th floor and casually get told that the lift is broken. “Turn around and run!”, my brain yelled again, but us women, we mos don’t listen. Eish! So I go up the stairs and with each level I get to my eyes and my mouth opened wider. The state of the building is ********** with safety hazards everywhere! Some steps had chunks missing, wires were dangling everywhere , doors were broken and there were giant holes in the walls, with the Cape Doctor’s eery tune scarily whistling through. Eventually, and feeling like I’m about to pass out, I reach my room and OMG!! I think a prison cell may be more glamorous. It was stuffy and stank of stale feet! Just standing there my hands felt sticky and dusty. Not even the view of the mountain could comfort me. As I sat there looking for ANYTHING that would make the room bearable, flipping through the tv channels and never getting past ETV, I thought “hell no”, took my bag and the last of my dignity and checked out. Didn’t even stay an hour. I’m sure hell would be more bearable. I’m sorry, someone needs to send a safety inspector to that hell hole. It’s uninhabitable and not worth the money they charge.
