Unclear Communication - Misleading
I’m extremely disappointed. I paid an upfront fee thinking my repayments would only start on my next payday — that’s what made the deal seem manageable. Instead, they tried to take the first payment within days, and now I’m being hit with interest charges I wasn’t prepared for. The terms were not clearly explained, and I feel misled. This experience has left a bad taste — I won’t be using Happy Pay again.

We would like to clarify how Happy Pay works and address your concerns regarding the payment structure:
Happy Pay is a payment method selected at checkout with our partnered merchants. Based on the application you completed, your banking details were not provided. As a result, your account was approved under Happy Pay Lite. This version requires an upfront payment, after which the remaining amount is split into two instalments—as outlined in the screenshots provided.
Once you link your banking details, your account can be upgraded to the standard Happy Pay option. At that point, your affordability will be assessed to determine the credit limit that can be granted. We would like to confirm that:
Example:
If you place an order on the 24th and your salary date is the 25th, your first instalment will be due on the 25th.We trust this clears up any confusion regarding how your payments are scheduled and your application status.
Should you have any further questions or need assistance updating your banking information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Kind regards,

- There has been no miscommunication regarding the requirement for upfront payment under Happy Pay Lite.
- There has also been no miscommunication about the instalment structure that follows—two payments after the initial upfront amount.
- When you completed your application, you declared your salary date as the 25th. Happy Pay is pay-date aligned, not monthly.
