WORST PLACE EVER AND NEVER REPLY TO MAILS

I write this email following my Facebook communications on Saturday 26 January 2019. It is my understanding that Happy Island (as it is called) is currently progressing through its “pre-launch” phase. However I do not feel that I as a consumer had paid “pre-launched” prices for what was supposed to be a fun day out We arrived on the day bright and early (08:45) getting our online tickets for park tickets was a breeze, getting through the gates was just as simple. Entering the office we had a slight que but nothing one could complain about. We were there to purchase our tubes for the day but were told by the cashier that all the rides offered the tubes at the slide and that only 1 ride required its patrons to have their own tube. We took and advise and therefore only hired 2 umbrellas for the day. With this all said and done, we found our possie for the day put up our umbrellas and set out for the first ride. The first ride my little girl encountered… low and behold she needs her own tube, 2nd ride right next door, she needed her own tube. With this information we headed back to the office, stood in an even longer que.. 30min later we had our gadget in hand and off we marched to the tube que. There we waited a very patient 45 minutes. Got our tubes and we set off…. I’d like to say that we set off in to the sunset but this was hardly the case. By the time we got our tubes the ques for the tube rides were at a ridiculous 1 hour – 1 ½ hour wait. This wouldn’t have been so bad if we were able to take a quick cooler in one of the 2 wave pools you brag about but. Instead we had no alternative than to raid the kiddies pool stand shoulder to shoulder with water up to our calf muscles fighting for the next sprinkle to try and remain cool. This is an absolute sight for sore eyes when you tell people you spent the day at a water park…. We then tried a tube ride that involved a mat, problem with this one was that there were no matts. After our investigation we discovered that fellow patrons of the park decided to use the very matts that were supposed to be used for the ride as bathing matts. The life guards had absolutely no control. The lazy river was even more of danger zone and of great concern. It was bad enough watching young kids being bashed around by teenagers insisting on making a triple tube in full view of life guards, but then the kids started getting off their tubes and running the lazy river course bare foot, this too in full view of life guards. I guess we would have considered ourselves one of the lucky ones as we were able to get a tube on the day, but this joyful bliss soon turned into a cops and ******s game or pirates of the Caribbean where we had to lie over our tubes with guns blazing in order to protect the assets we paid for. This was a very unpleasant experience and most certainly NOT a PRE-LAUNCH PRICE. My concern is that not even 1 of your bragged about wave pools which should be relatively new worked on during your PRE-LAUNCH period. How did you expect your guests to stay cool. A trip to the renowned park namely Gold Reef City would have cost me exactly R15.00 more than your PRE-LAUNCHED PRICES!!! I must with all the given facts in my email above demand a refund or alternatively be offered tickets for during the week and only when all the rides are working. You have a great potential park but it needs to be managed properly with proper training and just giving your patrons the proper thought I will never go there on my own expense again unless I am compensated nor will I set foot their on a weekend. I look forward to receiving some positive and one on one feedback.. Please do not copy and paste phases as Happy Island does on their Facebook complaints
