Stay away from Hannibal Safari

I am sending this to share my experience of Hannibal Safari so others don’t have the same experience.

Last August I paid Hannibal Safari in Cape Town the amount of R23,450 as the deposit for an Impi rooftop tent. This was a lot of money for me and I thought about it long and hard before I did it, but the Impi … and Hannibal … had very good reviews and I was very excited.

After a month it still wasn't delivered and I had concerns about the quality so I cancelled the order. Now I can't get my money back despite numerous emails and phone calls to Jacques Willig, and now to Heinrich, who does not answer any emails or phone messages left with Hannibal reception or to his phone. All I got was promises to pay. At one stage I got three POPs but they didn't go through. I then paid to send a lawyers letter and he promised to pay in February but it didn't happen. I also laid a complaint with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud but they were not successful. I don't know what to do next. I see from complaints on Hello Peter that this is not the first time Hannibal has done this and got away with it. All I can do is to warn people to avoid Hannibal like the plague.
