Our Experience With HAMMER 360°

Our experience with John-Christopher Delport and Hammer 360° has been disappointing. After requiring full payment upfront to secure the booking, the quality of work on the day was mediocre. Some of the equipment we were charged for was not present or used at the event, despite being charged for it. There were technical issues that they should have foreseen and prepared for, and there were obscure design choices of their own making that we did not ask for in the presentation. We experienced a general lack of accountability from Hammer 360° regarding the above.

We only received a Google Drive link to the footage of the event after several messages asking for delivery of the footage, but not after a delay of a few days and only after persistently asking for it. This footage was livestreamed and meant to be available for the family overseas to view. They were left waiting and streaming was ineffective/not done properly. Additionally, the footage was incomplete, and parts of it were *******ed thereby missing key parts of the event. There were random sounds playing at the wrong times, and the video displayed the thumbnail or screensaver during the entirety of certain speeches. Promises were made to fix this, which were not fulfilled.

After our initial message to follow-up went unread and unanswered for 5 days, we sent another follow–up message, pleading for an update and plan of action, or that we would need to escalate the matter. Hammer 360° responded to this request with name-calling, immediately saying they will not communicate any further, and would not complete their job.

Since the conclusion of the event, they have been rude, unresponsive, antagonistic, and have repeatedly attempted to scare us away from pursuing legal action after they themselves escalated the issue. Instead of completing the work, they have repeatedly emphasized, in bold, that they will be charging us R2000.00 per hour for any further communication, as “professional consultation”. Shortly thereafter John attempted to charge us, after the fact, for his time and attendance to the matter.

Despite us having an attorney, he persisted in calling me directly and stating the following “bud,” “dude”, “you trying to be a main oke, in front of your future mother-in-law…”, “I will counter-sue your ass…”, “I am going to go hard against you…”, “Do not try to be a big man, I will rip this to shreds…”, “If you are man enough to drop it, I suggest you do that”. This is unprofessional and a personal attack against me and my family. Threats of this nature are unacceptable. Hiring John-Christopher Delport and Hammer 360° for our memorial of a loved one has been the worst experience outside of having to deal with the death and trauma of the loss of a loved one. I would not recommend John-Christopher Delport nor Hammer 360° for any photographic services. They make promises but do not fulfill their contractual obligations.
