In April I bought a vehicle from Halfway Byd Soweto, that I saw on Autotrader. A BYD Surf. All the approvals were done before I drove to the dealership. (I stay in Pretoria) After an uncomfortably long process, I finally received my vehicle. That was the first time I saw the vehicle. When I got home, I inspected the vehicle after which I saw that there were scratches on the side panals. I immediately informed the salesman. His response was that I should polish the scratches. I told him that I do not want the vehicle that is scrached and that they have to come and collect the car. This was after 2 days. I informed MFC about this, because they were the finance house that financed the vehicle. I also informed Halfway and the dealership finance department. I did everything possible to inform everyone about the cancelation of the contract. The finance department at Halfway Byd Soweto informed me that the vehicle and finance has not been added to my profile. I then told them not to add anything. They obviously added it to my profile. After a month, I received a confirmation that I owe MFC money (the installment of the BYD surf) I phoned them to confirm that the vehicle is not in my possession. In the meantime I did an application for another vehicle. I was informed that my credit score is bad, because of the BYD that is on my profile, and that my interest rate will be higher than it could be. The difference between the interest rate, over 72 months, is about R30 000. Will Halfway Byd Soweto pay that difference back to me????? Halfway Byd Soweto is sitting with the money and is delaying the payback. They would've not even considered the payback if I didnt follow up all the time. The assistant manager promised me on Monday that he would pay MFC the following day. On Wednesday he had a different story...apparently awainting POP's. I also asked to speak to the dealer principal, Tebatso Vleis Manyama, but he is never available. Something sinister is happening at Halfway BYD Soweto, and I would advise everyone to stay away.
