Hair Matters
After purchasing a Hyperli voucher for a Wash, Cut, Treatment, Colour & Set at Hair on 7th Avenue (also known as Hair Matters) in Windermere, I booked my appointment. The voucher was R160.
Upon arrival I walked in to find 3 ladies in the waiting area mid-conversation and no customers in the salon. I waited a minute or 2 for them to complete their discussion and greeted them - the response I received was "Yes" as it seemed I was disturbing this gathering - I advised the lady of my name and that I had an appointment.
She asked me to take a seat and mumbled something to the other 2 ladies who were staring at me. As I sat down she advised me my hair was too long and I needed to pay a surcharge - I inquired as to how much this was and she said R150 - I was more than shocked to say the least as the voucher for the complete service was only R10 and here I was being told I need to pay all this money for hair which can easily just be held together and cut . I told her I did not realise there would be a surcharge - she instructed me to " Take out your voucher and read it properly, it clearly states this" After fumbling for the voucher in my panic, I read it and informed her it says a surcharge but not how much - I was highly disappointed by the mannerisms of this lady in front of her "friends" and decided I would not stand to be treated like a naughty child and left advising her I would rather request a request.
She could not give a dam and was happy for me to walk out of her shop.
Small business's need to understand with the way the economy is- everyone is trying to save and treating customers like our business is no good to them only ensure their business fails miserably.
