Licence to bug me...

I keep getting requests to pay my TV licence from these people. That's interesting since: 1. I don't have TV signal where I am. 2. I have paid my TV licence because it's easier than cancelling it. 3. I am retired and over 70 but it's easier to pay the full amount (although it should be the retiree rate.) 3. I never get a receipt from these people. 4. My wife (who lives with me) also has a current TV licence. 5. These Hahn people pester me because my phone number (from more than 10 years ago) was that of a gentleman who now owes over R10K in TV licence fees. 6. I signed an affidavit years ago that I only used TV screens to connect to my computer equipment. Have they lost that?

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience with Hahn Collections.
Please note the following:

You are being charged an annual fee of R74 on your TV license, ( Concessionary TV license holder)
A TV license can only be canceled, should you NOT have a TV set in your possession ( Broken or sold)
The Broadcasting Act stipulates that anyone who uses a TV set or has a TV set in their possession needs to have a valid license at the prescribed fee at all times. It is the TV set that needs to be licensed not its use.
A TV license holder cannot cancel his/her TV license. only the SABC may do so, and only once the SABC has been satisfied that the license holder is no longer in possession of a TV set,
A single TV license is required for your household, please furnish us with a standard affidavit confirming which license should remain active and which should be canceled, also attach your ID documents for cancellation of one of the TV licenses.

please email your sworn affidavit to ***, in order for our team to assist you in canceling one of the TV licenses.
