Shocking Service and Appalling Charges

I made an appointment with a specialist at the HaemTeam at Olivedale Clinic but firstly when I arrived I had to pay an amount of R2300 before I even saw anyone. Then I was seen by a Medical Officer when I'd asked to see a Specialist Doctor. He spent approx 10 mins speaking to me about my condition. A condition that I had already been diagnosed with 8 years previously. I was sent for blood tests and waited for the results the following day which I received on the app on my phone. The medical officer called me a week later as he'd been on leave to confirm the results I had already received and advised that he wanted me to have the same test done for the next 3 weeks. I then received an email from my medical aid to advise that they had made a payment of R630.00 to the HaemTeam from my medical savings account for another consultation which I had not made an appointment for. When I queried it I was told that the claim was for the phone call the Medical officer made to me to tell me something I already knew. I am absolutely livid and so angry that this company has the gall to charge me for a telephone call when they'd already charged me an exorbitant amount for my initial consultation of approx 10 mins. This should not be allowed, this service provider should be ashamed of themselves claiming from vulnerable patients who go to them for expert advice due to illness and leave with empty pockets. I will certainly not be going back to them for anything further and will never recommend this clinic to anyone I know. At no time did the medical officer advise me that I would be charged for a phone call!!!!
