Nearly impossible to cancel despite advertising can advertise and get refund back

I subscribed to the Haaretz newspaper as I wanted to get info on the Middle East and it’s seemed risk free. They advertised that if im unhappy I could cancel at anytime and will be refunded in full.

I then decided to cancel and could find no way to cancel online. It was not possible for me to come from south Africa to Israel to cancel my subscription.

Out of desperation I cancelled my credit card so they would debit me every month.

Received an email asking me to correct my payment details otherwise they’d stop providing me with the service.

I immediately rep**** to the email confirming my desire to cancel my subscription.

I got a reply that my email was not read by anybody at that address.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.

Their advertising was so deceptive and clearly they are making it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription.
