H C S Maintainance, Mr Hilton Scott.

Mr Hilton Scott of H.C.S Maintenance installed two gates for me in Jan 2019. From the beginning he was unreliable and unprofessional, not arriving as arranged and not taking my calls or returning messages when I tried to follow up. Shortly after the gates were completed the one gate fell down. Mr Scott did eventually come and sort this out, but only after numerous cancelled appointments and me having to contact him on a number he did not associate with me, as he was ignoring my calls. Then in April I contacted him again as the other gate was not operating as it should, he came to see me and a discussion was had that he would rectify what needs to be done to make the gate safe (As this one was also not steady and could easily fall) I was not happy with the motor itself which was installed as a second hand motor, but I was quoted on a new motor being installed. I advised him at this meeting that even if it means he needs to charge me more, the gate must be reliable and safe. He messaged me the cost of sorting out his poor workmanship, and I confirmed that he can go ahead with the work, but i did not hear from him again. I attempted to contact him several times but my calls and messages were once again ignored. The gate finally stopped operating, and fell over in December. I contacted Hilton who confirmed he would come and look at the gate on Saturday 14th Dec in the morning as he was working in the area, But yet again he did not arrive. And once again I called and messaged him, and he ignored me. Mr Scott confirmed in writing to me at the time of quoting for this job that the Motor has a 5 year Guarantee, and the gates a life time Guarantee and that if anything goes wrong he will sort out the problem at no charge. It was on this promise that I decided to accept his quote. Unfortunately it was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience dealing with Mr Scott. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional and unreliable individual. I have been forced to pay another company to sort out this mess.
