Overcharged and ignored

I saw Dr Wypkema after I had a miscarriage and was admitted to Wilgeheuwel Hospital emergency. She made me feel like an idiot because I had not realised that I was pregnant. She discharged me without doing any scan & told me to make a follow up appointment. When I made the appointment, I had to ask the receptionist if they are contracted in to the medical aid. I was told no, and that I would need to pay R1,000. On the day of the consultation I was charged R2,000 and told I needed to go for a DNC, which meant being admitted back into hospital. On the morning of the procedure, she saw me for all of 2 minutes in the ward. After the procedure I waited more than 5 hours, before the nurse told me I must go home as she is too busy with patients in her rooms. And I must make a follow up appointment for the following week. How can you go into hospital for a procedure & not even see the doctor for them to tell you if everything went ok, and also I didn't even know if I could go back to work the next day or not.......... How can a doctor charge so much money & do so little????? To make matters worse, the medical aid is only refunding me R440 from the R2,000 - because she has charged more than the medical aid rates. When I queried it with her rooms, they said they told me she was private. How am I meant to know what the medical aid rate is, and that she is charging 5 times more. I'm on a decent medical aid and they cover all my other claims in full, so they're not the problem here, the doctor is. I will never go back to see Dr Wypkema ever again.
