You can't cancel..... they will squeeze you for every cent each month.

Let me all tell you about Gym Company. I have requested my account to be cancelled since the 3rd of May for bad service. By the 26th of May they get back to me and say they can't do this cancellation as they can't even find my account and need to send it to a regional manager, so I requested for the account to be frozen in the meantime each month until they get clarification. They charged me all the way till August 2020 when my account actually had to be closed already. But seeing that I freeze it each time as I wait for cancellation form or any kind of contact. Nothing happens, NUMEROUS mails and NUMEROUS calls.

They don't come back, these last couple of weeks I have been sending mails constantly to the manager at East Point Gym Company. Even to the admin.eastpoint address. I have added Rishen or whatever his name is, on the mails each and every time. I hear word here and there and then wait 3 - 7 days for a response.

Now they are like...oh btw your account is in arrears...OMG duh? I took back my amount you debited as I wanted to cancel since May!! so they breach contract without a second thought..and as I raise the issue now they want a cancellation fee of R798 suddenly including the arrears amount of R997 or some bull****?? while I was paying each and every month the freeze amount since May. So instead of just giving me a cancellation fee in May. They rather give it to me now and expect me to pay this now with the arrears, riddiculous, then I showed them all the mails I have sent since May regarding the cancellation and I just got word back where they say -

"During lockdown you were not communicating with me you were communicating with our head office directly as I have noticed from the proof you sent.

I am going to send head office all the proof you sent to me and then get a way forward from them.

I should get back to you as soon as they advise me on how we can fix this."
