Soliciting of funds

<p>Hi</p> <p> </p> <p>I have been trying to cancel this gym membership since November last year, without any success. When a accounts consultant finally contacted me (in Feb) I was informed that this is a 36 month long binding contract. Firstly I have no contract with this company, I have never even set foot in one of their establishments (no will i ever), yet they have been deducting money from my account every month. I dont see how soliciting, or **********ly taking money from people is good business practice.</p> <p>According to the CPA, a consumer is entitled to cancel any contractual agreement when they please, unless there was an exchange of goods, in which case a financial settlement would have to be reached between the parties concerned. In this case, i have received absolutely nothing from these people, all the while they have been taking my money. This is the same as theft in my opinion.</p> <p>I will not be forced to take a membership of something that i have no intention of ever using. And now knowing what i know, i would not advise anyone else to interact with this company.</p>
