Settlement

Exactly three years ago I was lured by a sales person to join gym company.

He told me it was a month to month contract and that I could cancel at anytime.

There was no joining free so I figured it wouldn't hurt joining the gym- plus it was a month to month agreement.

Later on in 2015 I had a bit of a problem financially so I decided to cancel my membership as I could no longer afford the premiums.

When I called the gym I was advised that the agreement was for 24 months and I could not cancel without paying settlement.

I refuse to pay the settlement as I was only told of a month to month contract and the funny part is that the settlement has been R2000 since 2015 it doesn't decrease.

I have only used their services once, I don't even have a tag. I can't pay. I refuse.
