I was approached by a Gym Company consultant in the Johannesburg Bree street while they were canvassing. The sales person Thabiso informed me of a membership at R199 a month.<br> <br> I specifically told him I was not interested in a gym contract. He then assured me that it was a month-to-month contract and that I could cancel it anytime I wanted. I was happy to hear this as I had previously been bound to a gym membership contract with another well know gym which I ended up having to be handed over to a lawyers for.<br> <br> I signed the application and we were both happy with the sale.<br> <br> About 3 months later I called the branch to ask if I was able to cancel over the phone. The lady who answered the phone informed me that I was not and that I would have to come to the branch. she also informed me that I was not able to cancel the application, that I could only \pause"the contract. <br> <br> When I finally found time to go into the branch I was informed that I would not be able to cancel until I pay an amount of about R1300 which was owing to the account plus a penalty fee. <br> <br> I WILL NOT PAY ANY PENALTY OR CANCELLATION FEE WHICH I WAS NOT INFORMED OF.
