Refusing to cancel a contract that has ended

They refused to cancel my mother's contract even after it has ended. They then requested a letter requesting cancellation and even after multiple hand written request and emails they still do not want to. They then choose a direct debit date of they choice before the agree date causing bank charges. Then they say we need to pay missing payments....this has caused my mom so much stress due to them trying to ***** her into making payments.
