In 2008 at the age of 20 I was approached by a consultant from the Gym Company in Maponya Mall and they got me to fill their application form (promising me that they will call me to fill me in on more information regarding their gym), they never called me as they had promised instead they called me to remind me of my 1st payment which was due the end of that month, i told the lady that i spoke to that im not interested in joining. i never got a call from them ever again. in 2014 they debited me for the 1st time, when i went to the company enquiring as to why they are debiting my account now after 6 years they told me that i cannot cancel my contract with them and that i have to pay them for each and every month from 2008. i am now listed by the company for an amount of R7911. what i dont understand is why they did not attempt to call me all those other years to get me to pay, because according to me i was no longer a member as i had told them on the very same month that im not interested in joining the gym.
