Mistreatment from gym company

My contract was terminated first week of December 2020. Immediately after my contract was terminated I visited gym company to notify them about my issue of contract being terminated. I was told i should have either a doctor's note or a letter from work. First week of January 2021 I went back with a letter from the employer to show that I am getting no salary anymore. I was told they can't terminate the contract and I must pay the balance for remaining months of my contract. I explained to them, I don't get a salary anymore and I don't have that money they. I tried to show them a letter from an employer. They refuse to even look àt my letter. All they want is money. I am devastated since I don't get any salary anymore and I don't have money to pay them, even the debit will not go through as i don't get à salary. I need help. I don't know what to do
